Glenmore Country Club Wedding, Part Two | Elizabeth + R.J.

Looking for a little pick-me-up for your Tuesday? Well look no further because we’ve got it goin’ on here on the blog today. We’re back with the second half of R.J. and Liz’s wedding at Glenmore Country Club and it’s nothing short of dynamite! The country club at Glenmore is an oasis of a venue perched at the top of a hill overlooking a lush golf course and the Blue Ridge mountains.

The classic, colonial facade provided the perfect backdrop for a few more shots of this good lookin’ group.

Inside the ballroom the tables were decorated with lanterns, purple accents and travel-themed table markers.

It was the perfect Virginia afternoon for a cocktail hour on the veranda.

I love this moment right before R.J. and Liz were officially introduced at the reception as husband and wife.

Liz’s father said a few words to the newly weds before dinner was served.

Okay. One other thing that you might not know about Liz is that she LOVES dinosaurs. To celebrate this fun fact the whole bridal party got their own dinosaur hat to wear at the reception!

Liz’s maid of honor was the first to offer a toast.

Second up was R.J’s brother and best man.

Then Liz’s father escorted her to the dance floor.

Followed by R.J. and his mother.

After dancing, Liz, R.J. and I headed out to the golf course for a few more shots with some sweet golden hour light.

Back inside the party was well underway.

Had to break out the hats for Everyone Walk the Dinosaur!

Liz and R.J. – I hope you guys had a fabulous time in Hawaii for your honeymoon and are getting all settled in to your new place together! Thank you again for inviting us into your lives and allowing us to capture these memories for you. I hope that you will cherish them for years and years to come. The wedding was amazing, but the best is yet to come!!!

Un abrazo fuerte,

Natalie

Glenmore Country Club Wedding: Elizabeth + R.J.

It was such a blessing to be a part of Liz and R.J.’s beautiful summer wedding a few weeks ago! I had such a great time getting to know these two at their engagement session this past fall, and just knew that their wedding day would be a glorious testimony to God’s faithfulness in their lives and the genuine love that they share. I can definitely say after watching these two behind the camera and now having had witnessed them tie the knot that together they will make this world a better place!

It was all sun and blue skies when I arrived at First Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville.

One of the things that I love about Liz is that she smiles so easily and so naturally. On this particular day, however, she was especially smiley.:)

Time for the dress!

Love this moment between mother and daughter!

Meanwhile the boys were busy with their own details…

A few shots of this handsome group outside the church…

Then we brought Liz and the girls out…

I love this shot of Liz and her brothers.

A few moments of prayer before walking down the aisle…

RJ rockin’ the purple socks.

These are two of my favorite shots from the day!!

Love these balcony shots!

JOY!!

Before heading to the reception, we all stopped off at the entrance of Ash Lawn-Highland to get some shots on their infamous tree-lined road. I love that R.J. and Liz wanted to recreate one of scenes from the Sound of Music. Do you recognize this one?

We’ve got one more installment coming to the blog with R.J. and Liz’s classy, travel-themed reception at Glenmore Country Club in Charlottesville. See you back tomorrow – same time, same place!

San Diego Engagement Session | Jenny + Alfonso

A few weeks back we met up with Alfonso and Jenny at Balboa Park for their engagement session. After our initial meeting at Starbucks and watching how easily they smiled at each other over mocha lattes, I can’t tell you how excited we were to get these two in front of our cameras! Their connection is absolutely magnetic. They have been together since high school, so they know each other inside and out and just have this ease about their relationship. We loved watching how effortlessly Alfonso could make Jenny laugh and how even the smallest things like how Jenny would take Alfonso’s hand or how they would walk together turned into some of the most romantic moments of the afternoon.

Jenny, you have the cutest laugh!

It was the perfect afternoon for a stroll through the park.

After changing into something a little more casual we set off again in search of some of that golden San Diego light that we all love!

I love that Jenny and Alfonso brought along their Nerf guns. It was such a fun way to end their session!

Jenny and Alfonso: John and I had so much fun hanging out with you guys and getting to know you both a little better! We loved hearing about how you met, finding out about your pet chinchilla and talking best Mexican restaurants! It all just made us even more excited for the wedding!!

Mt. Pleasant Family Session | The Camp Family

So excited to be back on the blog today! June has been a super busy month full of travel, visitors, weddings, engagements and vacations, so I feel like I’m just starting to slow down enough to take stock of the month and organize my posts! Today I hope you are enjoying a day off with family and friends and rejoicing in the daily freedoms that we are so blessed to enjoy thanks to the sacrifices to so many of our fellow citizens!

As a way to celebrate I have posted some of my favorite photos from our session with one of my favorite families. Enjoy!!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!!

Charlottesville Family Portraits | Sugoto, Rachita and Avi

I don’t remember a single thing about my 1st birthday. I know that my parents gave me a Peter Rabbit party and invited a bunch of our family and friends only because I’ve seen the guest book and the invitation glued into my baby book. I know that I wore a pink dress and that there were balloons tied to the chairs and a large rectangular sheet cake solely because one of the guests was kind enough to pick up a camera and take some pictures. For me, this is one of the most beautiful and relevant aspects of photography. I love creating memories for my clients. Whether or not they will have the mental memory, there is something about the tangible memory that’s absolutely irreplaceable.

I hope the same will be true for little Avi. A few weeks ago I met up with his parents and their family dog, Yuki, at Boar’s Head Inn to commemorate his 1st birthday. I hope that one day he will be able to look back at these photos and see the joy on his parents’ faces and know what a blessing he has been to them from the very first day!

Love this series of Avi on the swing!

What a beautiful family!

Sugoto and Rachita: Thank you for allowing me to capture such a momentous day in your lives!! You have so much to celebrate from this past year and I was honored to be there to capture these memories for you!!

Un abrazo fuerte,

Natalie
