New York City Wedding, Part Two | Kierstin + Wes

Welcome back to the second half of Wes and Kierstin’s New York City wedding! Besides the fact that we got to capture the love between two of our favorite people, there was also an undeniable beauty found in the simple elegance of the day that left both John and me refreshed and inspired.

Since these two had a First Look, we were able to take a peaceful stroll around the neighborhood after the ceremony to give these two some time to connect and relax before heading in to the reception.

Back inside, John was busy capturing all the fall-inspired details. I loved the modern meets vintage feel of the space!

Kierstin was so creative and scoured Ebay for these 1920’s NYC postcards to add to her table decor. The best part was reading all the notes that people had written on the backs!

Cute little magnets made from pieces of a NYC map  were used to pin up the guests’ table assignments.

Before we knew it it was time for Wes and Kierstin’s first dance together as husband and wife!

Next up were Kierstin and her father…

…followed by Wes and his mother.

And then it was time to get the party started!

Wes’s father and best man and Kierstin’s sister and maid of honor also offered heartfelt words and a toast to the newlyweds.

Okay, this might be my favorite cake (both in terms of looks and taste) of all time. Actually, hands down, it’s my favorite.:)

Kierstin and Wes: John and I were honored to be there by your sides and behind the lens, capturing the big moments, the small moments and all the beauty, joy and love in between. We wish you every blessing, and we can’t wait to come visit y’all again in NYC!

Un abrazo fuerte,
Natalie

New York City Wedding | Kierstin + Wes

I can’t imagine ending our 2013 wedding season on a happier note than with this sweet New York City wedding, featuring my brother-in-law, Wes, and his lovely bride, my new sister-in-law, Kierstin! It was a crisp, cool fall afternoon in late October, perfect for photos and a First Look in Central Park. John and I had scouted out some different locations in the park the day before because we wanted somewhere walking distance from the church but also private enough for doing their First Look. Let me tell you, there are not too many private spots in Central Park on a Saturday afternoon, so we felt really fortunate when we stumbled across this little glade.

Before I get to the First Look, however, I have to show you some of the lovely Kierstin and her gorgeous bouquet of orange and red dahlias! It was the perfect addition to the fall foliage in the park.

Wes was also looking sharp all dressed up in his suit and tie.

Moments before Wes and Kierstin’s First Look their smiles were already beaming.

And from that moment on they were inseparable.:)

I love this next series because of all the different expressions of pure joy on their faces.

Bernardo Winery Wedding | Jennifer + Alfonso

Alright, I admit it. I have been bursting at the seams to show you this wedding ever since we stepped foot onto the Bernardo Winery property and saw all the rustic details, charming village shops and neat rows of grape vines. It was like stepping onto the set of a John Wayne  movie.  But what really sealed the deal for us was meeting up with Jenny and Alfonso again. We loved meeting them this past summer for their engagement session at Balboa Park, but this time was different. This time it was their wedding day.

Now I want you to imagine the cutest couple you can think of, then multiply that by 1o0 and you have Jenny and Alfonso. Yep. They’re that awesome. I mean Jenny is just a bundle of spunk, beauty and kindness, and Alfonso is patient, even keeled and one of the most thoughtful people you’ll meet. Together they are force to be reckoned with!

Here are a few shots that we got upon arriving at the venue. We love how every detail is so stylized!

Isn’t Jenny’s dress the perfect addition to this arbor!?

JGA-6JGA-7

And don’t you love her cute Kate Spade flats!

JGA-10JGA-1JGA-3JGA-21JGA-25

I just couldn’t get enough of Jenny’s smile and laugh.

JGA-29

And then I met her mom and I knew exactly where they came from.:)

Meanwhile John was with Alfonso and the guys as they were getting ready.

Jenny’s grandmother’s precious reaction to seeing her granddaughter in her wedding gown for the first time.:)

On her way to see her groom!

JGA-64JGA-65JGA-67JGA-69JGA-70JGA-71JGA-72JGA-74JGA-79JGA-80

I just can’t get enough of this girl’s megawatt smile and laugh!

Well as you can see we had so many great shots from the First Look that we didn’t even make it to the ceremony! Get excited because we’ll be back tomorrow with a Part II that’s overflowing with a beautiful ceremony and all the pretty fall-themed details from the reception. Same time same place!

Un abrazo fuerte,

Natalie

Keswick Vineyards Wedding, Part Two | Josh + Laura

Welcome back to Part Two of Josh and Laura’s oh-so-swoonworthy wedding at Keswick Vineyards. After the emotional “tissues required” ceremony overlooking the vineyard, the sun sank low behind the mountains while the guests began to gather in the garden courtyard for refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. Before the reception could begin, however, Josh, Laura, John and I had to take advantage of the magic hour lighting as we wandered around the property and up and down the rows of grape vines.

John and I loved all of Laura and Josh’s travel themed details, especially the luggage tags with all the guests’ names and table assignments!

Everyone was on their feet as the newlyweds made their grand entrance and went right into their first dance together.

Laura’s father was the first to offer a toast to his daughter and new son-in-law.

Toward the end of the best man’s toast, a group of Josh’s fraternity brothers broke into song and started walking up on the dance floor to serenade Laura. It was such a fun surprise!

Next thing we knew everyone was up on the dance floor showing off their moves!

LNJ-190LNJ-192LNJ-194LNJ-195LNJ-198LNJ-200

I had to end with two of my favorite black and white candids of this beautiful couple!

Josh and Laura: You both were such a treat to work with and we feel extremely grateful to have documented the most important day of both your lives thus far. We wish you a lifetime of adventures and beautiful memories together!
