Kelly + Adam, Part Two | Charlottesville, VA

Welcome back to Part Two of Kelly and Adam’s lovely Charlottesville wedding. After their awesome kazoo exit from UVa’s chapel, we all hopped in our cars and headed south to a private residence, the gorgeous family home of friends of the bride and groom. John and I were absolutely floored by the natural beauty of this place!

When one of the groomsmen mentioned that they had a quick outfit change planned, I’m not sure that this is what I had in mind. HA!:-)

A little fun with John Deere…

A shout out to Albemarle Baking Company for this sweet little cake!

Kelly and Adam make their grand entrance to their reception!

Beggar’s Banquet did a fabulous job with the catering. Just take a look at this spread…

This was the perfect venue for these little ones. They had plenty of room to run around and so much to keep them occupied.

Adam’s brother had us laughing until our sides hurt!

Kelly’s maid of honor gave a beautiful and heartfelt toast.

It was so much fun watching Kelly and Adam dance the whole night!

Adam and his mom bust a move…

All eyes were on Adam as he busted out his best MJ moves….

Kelly and Adam: You both have hearts of gold! I can’t tell you what a gift it was to be able to document the beginning of your lives to together as husband and wife. We have no doubt that you will take good care of one another and that together, you guys will bless so many others. Looking forward to seeing you around C’ville!

Kelly + Adam | Charlottesville, VA

Summer has come and gone in, what seems to be, a blink of an eye. Or two shakes of a lamb’s tail, as John would say. I was reflecting a bit this morning on the last few months, and I want to say how thankful I am  for each and everyone of our summer weddings. John and I are so blessed to have worked with such awesome brides and grooms and feel so honored that we were asked to be a part of each of their weddings. We don’t take it for granted, and we never want to.

When John and I met Kelly and Adam for the first time at our local favorite, C’ville Coffee, we felt instantly at ease with them, like we were meeting good friends for coffee and catching up. Both have warm, genuine smiles that just light up a room and great, big hearts that extend love wherever they go and to whomever they meet. It was such a joy to witness and document these two committing themselves to each other. We have no doubt that great beauty will come from such a joining of hearts and lives!

Preparations were well underway when I arrived at Kelly’s house…

Kelly putting on the last minute touches to her make-up…

Meanwhile, John was just down the street hanging out with Adam and the guys…

John and I both snapped a few portraits of Kelly and Adam separately before meeting up for their First Look.

A big shout out to Couture Design for Kelly’s gorgeous bouquet!

John and I were super excited when Kelly and Adam told us that they wanted to do a First Look in one of the gardens on Ground at UVa before their ceremony. This is one of our favorite moments to shoot between the bride and the groom, so of course, we had to get both perspectives! Here is John’s…

Here’s my angle of the First Look….

Kelly and Adam: You guys are just so stinkin’ cute!

As we were taking pictures, Adam walked away for a second and came back with this little purple flower for Kelly. Adam, we think you’re the coolest. We’re pretty sure Kelly thinks so too. 😉

What did I tell you? A-DOR-A-BLE!

After a while, we wandered over to another part of the garden and spotted this lovely crape myrtle tree.

A series of kisses….

It’s just not a UVa wedding without a few shots under the Rotunda!

Kelly adjusting Adam’s bow tie….

Kelly, you are absolutely gorgeous!

After the First Look, we all headed over to the chapel to get the show on the road!

There’s nothing better than the smile that sweeps across a groom’s face as he sees his bride walking toward him. Makes me smile every time.:-)

Pure joy!

Kelly and Adam provided kazoos for all their guests for when they exited the chapel as husband and wife. Of course everyone had to warm up a little bit before the big moment. 😉

Mr. and Mrs.!!!

If you have fallen in love with the first part of Kelly and Adam’s Charlottesville wedding, just wait for tomorrow’s post of the reception, complete with hay benches, John Deere, bridal party shenanigans and non-stop dancing. See you then!

Featured: Style Me Pretty and Half Baked

Oh my goodness – Heidi and Zayne’s wedding brings back such great memories! Like it was yesterday, I remember walking up to the beautiful colonial house and taking one look at Heidi’s bouquet and falling in love. And that was only the beginning. Heidi, with the help of friends and family, put together a DIY masterpiece! John and I were like kids in a candy store with with all of the fall and apple themed details. They held their wedding at Belle Isle State Park and hired a fabulous team of vendors including flowers from River Birch Florist, catering by Willaby’s, and a gorgeous cake by Jackie at Carried Away Cuisine.

So you can imagine how thrilled we were to have Heidi and Zayne’s fall affair featured on Style Me Pretty a couple of weeks ago! The SMP team did an awesome job putting the post together – we couldn’t have been happier.:-)

And to top all of this off, today I woke up to find Heidi and Zayne’s fabulous cake featured on the cake blog Half Baked.

Congratulations to Heidi and Zayne and all of the vendors involved for putting on such a memorable affair!

Robin + B-J, Part Two | Richmond, VA

Welcome back! Today we’re featuring Part Two of Robin and B-J’s classy Richmond wedding. After their beautiful ceremony at Sycamore Presbyterian Church, we headed over to Richmond Country Club to continue the celebration. Before the newly weds joined their guests, we spent some time with them outside around the lovely golf course.

Robin and B-J arriving in style…

Robin and B-J = cute, cute, cute!!

I love it when brides will play in front of the camera! So fun and flirty!!

Stunning, Robin.:-)

The first dance.

Robin and her father started out with a slow dance.

But then surprised everyone with a choreographed number to a medley of oldies. So fun!!

B-J and his mother.

Vogue Flowers did a great job with all of the bouquets and lovely centerpieces!

Checking the score…

A huge shout out to Westhampton Pastry Shop for the beautiful cake!

The best man had the bride and groom (as well as the two photographers!) in stitches.:-)

The John Winntet kept everyone on the dance floor into the night!

Robin and B-J: Your sweet spirits, energy, positivity and obvious love for each other is something unique and special. We enjoyed every minute of your big day. We wish you all the best and a lifetime of love and blessings!

Robin + B-J | Richmond, VA

Robin and B-J were cut from the same cloth. It was pretty obvious from the start that they weren’t going to be one of those “opposites attract” couples. Both are classy, have an affinity for the preppy, and are true romantics with huge hearts and a sincere love for others and the Lord. John and I were honored to be there to capture all the beauty.

I started out the day with Robin and her girls. I took one look at her wedding dress and knew that this was a girl after my own heart.:-)

Robin, the beautiful bride and fellow redhead!:-)

Ahhhh. Such a sweet moment between mother and daughter. I love that it’s forever recorded!

Love the shoes!!

Meanwhile, John spent the afternoon with B-J and his crew.

B-J was looking extra sharp with his Vineyard Vines bow tie and cummerbund.

Loving the purple and green combo!

Gorgeous, Robin. Simply gorgeous.

Mr. and Mrs.!!

So in love.:-)

I’m so excited to share all the moments and details from the reception at Richmond Country Club, so stay tuned for more of our favorite details coming tomorrow!
