Charlottesville Wedding Photographer | Megan + Jay, Part Two

Before we knew it the ultra-talented sister team at Amber Karson Events had transformed the tent into a dream of soft pinks, creams and greens. John and I were absolutely floored upon entering the reception and experiencing Megan and Jay’s vision brought to life. The soft, romantic color palette, the blending of florals and succulents and all of the personal touches and details came together so beautifully!

Meanwhile, Megan, Jay and I were still frolicking around the vineyard.:)

Meanwhile, the cocktail hour was in full swing…
Guests even got to try their hand at a little bocce ball or cornhole.
Megan and Jay took their seats as Megan’s dad kicked off the toasts.
Next up were the best man and maid of honor.
And before dinner was served, Megan’s grandmother blessed the meal.:)
Maliha Creations knocked it out of the park with this sweet cake.
Jay and Megan’s first dance as husband and wife.
And once the party got started, it just didn’t stop…
Congrats, you two!
Megan and Jay: I have no doubt that your wedding will go down in NBP history as a personal favorite, and that we will be talking about the two of you for years to come. Thank you for ushering us into your lives and your big day with such sincerity, sweetness and generosity. We wish you both all of the best life can offer!

We can’t stop talking about Megan and Jay. Yes, they are two of the most caring, kind and generous individuals we have ever met, but at this point it’s getting a little difficult to tease out exactly what makes them and their wedding so memorable. What I can say with certaintly, however, is that it does have everything to do with who they are as individuals and who they are together. Their classic style, their calm, steady demeanors, their giving spirits,  it was all effortlessly infused and weaved into their day. And thanks to Emily and Amber at Amber Karson Events, the final product was simply stunning.

Keswick Vineyards never disappoints…

Back inside the carriage house the preparations were beginning.

Megan’s grandmother’s reaction to seeing her in her wedding dress…it just doesn’t get any better than that!

Jay’s final preparations…

The classy, elegant and simply stunning Megan.

What a beautiful ceremony location!

Moments before walking down the aisle…

Just when you think that it can’t get any better you find out that there’s a Part Two! That’s right. Be sure to check back tomorrow because the reception is off the hook gorgeous!

Charlottesville Wedding Photographer | Jamie + David

Happy Monday, friends! Today I want to kick off the week with some wedding awesomeness – Jamie and David’s wedding at First Colony Winery. Enjoy the goodness!

Jamie started off the day getting ready with her girls. I just love this shot of her peeking outside!

Love the bright pink and green!

 A little bling…

On the other side of the winery David and his groomsmen were also finishing up last minute preparations…

The final product. They clean up well.:)

Back inside with Jamie it was finally time to put on the dress!

Pretty girls!!

Jamie and David with their best girls and guys.:)
Ahhhh…our favorite time of the evening – our time with the bride and groom!
Of course we had to head back over to the vineyard to take advantage of the magic hour!
Just as the sun was disappearing behind the horizon, we headed back in to get the party started!
David and Jamie were introduced and then they headed right into their first dance together.
I love when there are lots of little kiddos running around…
The maid of honor’s toast had Jamie (and everybody else) in stitches!
David’s best man double checks his notes…
This little man had some serious moves and was so fun to watch!
Jamie and friends breakin’ it down:)
Jamie and David: Thank you for inviting John and I into your story and trusting us to document such an important day in each of your lives and your life together. We wish you years and years of love and laughter together!

Charlottesville Engagement | Saana + Marko

Happy Monday everyone! I thought I would take a break from weddings this week and show y’all some of my favorite images from Saana and Marko’s engagement session. Get ready because these two are triple scoop adorable with a cherry and whipped cream on top!

Their story together began at the University of Virginia, so we decided to head back to their stomping grounds to rekindle some of that wahoo romance!

I just love the connection these two have with each other. They are completely at ease, and it’s beautiful to capture!

The gorgeous Saana!

I love this series right outside the garden gate. The lighting was so dreamy and romantic and Saana and Marko were all cuddles and kisses. Love!

Saana and Marko: Thank you for sharing part of your afternoon with me! I had a wonderful time hearing about how you both met and catching up about your plans for the big day. I can’t believe that we’ll see you again in a month!

Un abrazo fuerte,

Charlottesville Wedding Photographer | Lauren + Josh, Part Two

Welcome back to Part Two of Josh and Lauren’s beautiful spring wedding at Castle Hill Cider! I hope you are enjoying this three day weekend and the unofficial start of summer. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of the men and women, past and present, who have served and currently serve our country with such courage, strength and dedication. We remember you, and thank you and your family members, today and always.

Now if you remember where I left off in Part One, the ceremony had just ended and the thunderstorm that was predicted finally arrived. But like I said at the end of my last post, get ready to have your socks knocked off because these two didn’t let a little rain and wind get in the way. No, in fact, they absolutely killed it in front of the camera.:-)

Lauren, not sure if you’ve heard this before, but I think you look like Katie Holmes!

I love this series with the red couch!

Back downstairs, the guests were enjoying the cocktail hour and a chance to check out all of the reception details.

Then it was time for Lauren and Josh’s grand entrance…

…and their first dance as husband and wife!

After Josh and Lauren’s first dance, Lauren’s dad offered his toast to the newlyweds.

And then the best man and maids of honor had their chance…

After dinner Lauren danced with her father and Josh with his mother.:-)

And then everyone was up on the dance floor. It was certainly quite the party!

A little break from dancing to play the shoe game.:-)

Lauren and Josh: Thank you so much for having us be a part of your big day. We were so honored to be able to work so closely with the two of you and to be able to meet your friends and family! You are such blessed people to be surrounded by such deeply committed folks; we have no doubt that your marriage is going to be wrapped in such incredible love! We wish you both all the best as you embark on this journey of marriage together.

Un abrazo,
