Charlottesville Wedding Photographer: Carrie + Alex

October in Virginia. Ahhhhhh. Can’t you just feel the crisp morning air and picture those golden amber hues crowning the hillsides? It just doesn’t get better than a Charlottesville fall unless, of course, I’m off to shoot a wedding at All Saints Episcopal Church and the Clifton Inn!! Well I’m happy to say that my dream came true this fall when I met up with Carrie and Alex for their lovely wedding celebration. If you frequent our blog you might remember them from their engagement session this past summer, but if not, not to worry because you have a second chance. 😉

Check out this invitation suite! The fabulous bride, Carrie, did all off the calligraphy. AMAZING!!!

I was so excited that I caught Carrie right before she entered the church. I just love the juxtaposition of her veil with her jeans and checkered shirt. I can’t help but feel wedding day excitement and butterflies!

A huge shout out to Lauren Dunn with Simply Perfect Events for making sure every ceremony detail was in place and simply perfect!

I love Carrie’s Kate Spade heels! Classy and refined with a touch of fun and flirty!

When I met up with Alex the first thing he asked me was how Carrie was doing. I asked him if he was nervous and he said that if Carrie was doing well then so was he. Alex, you’re going to make a great husband.:)

Of course I had to get him to show off his Virginia cuff links.

Team Carrie!!

Breathtaking!

Look at those smiles!

A moment alone…

Once we had finished up at the church we all headed over to the Clifton for the reception and pictures.
Our first stop when we arrived was Clifton’s iconic brick archway. Thank you, sun, for being in the perfect spot to get these gorgeous shots!
LOVE!!
A few more on the lawn…
Just in case you haven’t had your fill of Alex and Carrie’s infectious smiles quite yet, we’ve got round two coming up on Monday. Until then, have a great weekend!

These are beautiful pictures!

Charlottesville Wedding Photographer: Kristen + Josh, Part Two

Welcome back! I hope y’all had a great weekend and are ready to get your week started with some real wedding goodness. I have returned with Part Two of Josh and Kristen’s fabulous country club soiree and it’s overflowing with romance and DIY gorgeousness! Directly after the ceremony (and after celebrating with a champagne toast in the Jefferson Room!) we all convened on the lawn again for portraits. The sun was starting to set, so I was a happy girl.:)

Josh and Kristen’s wedding party was so fun to hang out with!

Be still my beating heart…I love this series!

Meanwhile the guests were enjoying cocktails and appetizers on the lawn and getting into a few heated matches of croquet and corn hole. It was such a fun afternoon!

Back inside Peacock Alley all of Kristen’s DIY masterpieces were on display. I was so impressed with her creative vision and how everything came together so seamlessly!

Aren’t these awesome centerpieces!?

Kristen and Josh’s grand entrance!

The night began with Josh and Kristen’s first dance as husband and wife.

Kristen’s father was the first to offer a toast to the bride and groom. Josh followed suit by thanking both sets of parents and all their guests for their love and support.

Kristen and her father and Josh with his mother.

And then it was officially party time! T.D. Layman did a great job mixing it up and keeping everyone on the dance floor.

Josh and Kristen: I had such a blast spending the day with y’all and documenting your big day! Thank you for inviting me into your lives and for just being you. You made my job just too easy. 😉 I hope y’all had an amazing time in Vietnam and are enjoying your first few weeks of married life!

I know I said that I would wait until next week to post this wedding, but as you can see I got so excited about these images that I just couldn’t wait until Monday to show you! Kristen and Josh were married at the ever so classy Farmington Country Club, and boy oh boy are y’all in for a treat. Kristen did a great job infusing romantic girly-girl with rustic chic and splashes of artsy-whimsy. Can’t picture it? Just you wait and see because it all came together so beautifully!

The first part of the afternoon was spent upstairs with Kristen, her sister and best friend. I could have spent the whole day hanging out with these girls!

My heart skipped a beat when I walked in to find Kristen’s Ramona Keveza gown and cowboy boots.

I love that Kristen wore her Toms – a girl after my own heart!

Kristen, you convinced me that all brides should jump on the bed before they get married!

Our first stop before the First Look got underway was the iconic Jefferson Room. It is one of my favorite places for portraits of the bride. I think you’ll see why…

Team Kristen!

Kristen, I know this goes without saying, but you are absolutely stunning!!

Sugar Magnolias knocked it out of the park with these gorgeous bouquets!

Heading down for the First Look!!

I love this moment right before Kristen turned around.

And their eyes meet….this moment will never get old for me!

I love this “you shouldn’t have” look on Kristen’s face as she opens up her card and gift from Josh.

Nice work, Josh. Very nice work.

After we had finished with the First Look, we tucked Josh and Kristen away and turned our focus on the ceremony.

I love all of the details and Kristen’s color choices!!

Both fathers right before the ceremony began.

Officially official!

I hope y’all have a fantastic weekend, but make sure to check back on Monday for Part Two of Josh and Kristen’s wedding. Croquet and country club corn hole anyone? It just keeps getting better and better!

Charlottesville Senior Photographer: Justin

Man o man have we had an epic fall! Not only have John and I been shooting and working with some of the sweetest, most creative and fun-loving people, we have also been traveling back and forth from coast to coast at record speeds, shooting, editing, catching up with friends, sleeping on planes, Skyping, shooting, and editing some more. It’s been such an exciting and full season for us, but I’m happy to say that we’ve reached the end and we’re heading back to San Diego this afternoon. Woohoo! Bring on the beach and the sun!!

The best part about all of this is that we have sooooo many weddings and sessions to share with y’all in the coming weeks. I’ve had so much fun showcasing all these awesome graduates on the blog, so as to not mess with a good thing, let me leave you with some of my favorite images from my time with Justin.

Justin: Thanks so much for spending the afternoon with John and I. We have no doubt that you will go on to do great things and be an active, contributing member wherever you end up. Keep us posted!

For the rest of y’all, make sure to check back next week because I’m returning with such a beauty of a wedding, even a Disney princess would swoon!

Charlottesville Senior Photographer: Olivia

Introducing Olivia –  I have known this gorgeous girl since she was a freshman, so I start to get a little teary eyed when I think about her graduating in a few months. We met at Ash Lawn-Highland a few weeks ago and as you’ll see from these images she is a cutie pie with an irrepressible smile, spunk, and a joyful spirit that just overflows with love, life and compassion for others. She also happens to be my hair twin and a lover of languages, so I think that just about seals the deal.:)

Doesn’t this girl have the best sense of style? Loving the blue pants!

Un abrazo fuerte,

Natalie
