Summer has come and gone in, what seems to be, a blink of an eye. Or two shakes of a lamb’s tail, as John would say. I was reflecting a bit this morning on the last few months, and I want to say how thankful I am for each and everyone of our summer weddings. John and I are so blessed to have worked with such awesome brides and grooms and feel so honored that we were asked to be a part of each of their weddings. We don’t take it for granted, and we never want to.
When John and I met Kelly and Adam for the first time at our local favorite, C’ville Coffee, we felt instantly at ease with them, like we were meeting good friends for coffee and catching up. Both have warm, genuine smiles that just light up a room and great, big hearts that extend love wherever they go and to whomever they meet. It was such a joy to witness and document these two committing themselves to each other. We have no doubt that great beauty will come from such a joining of hearts and lives!
Preparations were well underway when I arrived at Kelly’s house…
Kelly putting on the last minute touches to her make-up…
Meanwhile, John was just down the street hanging out with Adam and the guys…
John and I both snapped a few portraits of Kelly and Adam separately before meeting up for their First Look.
A big shout out to Couture Design for Kelly’s gorgeous bouquet!
John and I were super excited when Kelly and Adam told us that they wanted to do a First Look in one of the gardens on Ground at UVa before their ceremony. This is one of our favorite moments to shoot between the bride and the groom, so of course, we had to get both perspectives! Here is John’s…
Here’s my angle of the First Look….
Kelly and Adam: You guys are just so stinkin’ cute!
As we were taking pictures, Adam walked away for a second and came back with this little purple flower for Kelly. Adam, we think you’re the coolest. We’re pretty sure Kelly thinks so too. 😉
What did I tell you? A-DOR-A-BLE!
After a while, we wandered over to another part of the garden and spotted this lovely crape myrtle tree.
A series of kisses….
It’s just not a UVa wedding without a few shots under the Rotunda!
Kelly adjusting Adam’s bow tie….
Kelly, you are absolutely gorgeous!
After the First Look, we all headed over to the chapel to get the show on the road!
There’s nothing better than the smile that sweeps across a groom’s face as he sees his bride walking toward him. Makes me smile every time.
Kelly and Adam provided kazoos for all their guests for when they exited the chapel as husband and wife. Of course everyone had to warm up a little bit before the big moment. 😉
Mr. and Mrs.!!!
If you have fallen in love with the first part of Kelly and Adam’s Charlottesville wedding, just wait for tomorrow’s post of the reception, complete with hay benches, John Deere, bridal party shenanigans and non-stop dancing. See you then!
