So I would like to take you back in time, back to October 2009. (I figured since I’m a newbie to the cyber world that I would try and catch you up on some important events at Natalie Bell Photography!)
It was a beautiful, crisp, fall day in Crozet, Virgnia. The leaves were beginning to take on their rich shades of yellow gold, red and burnt orange and there was just this sense of expectation in the air. This was not just any day. No, this was the day that Katie and Mike would exchange vows and rings and make a promise to each in front of their friends and family that they would commit the rest of their lives to each other. What a beautiful (and crazy!) this thing called marriage is!
I shot this wedding as a second photographer, accompanying Celeste Ainsworth of Celestial Sights Photography.
Both ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Old Trail Golf Club. This was a great venue, affording spectacular views of the golf course and surrounding Blue Ridge mountains.
Katie was such a cool, calm and collected bride. She was a vision in her silk, one-strap gown and her bouquet of cream-colored roses and purple lilies. With her sister and best friend by her side, she was ready to take on the world (or maybe just get hitched)! They were so much fun in front of the camera and were game for whatever.
Katie, you are beautiful. I really mean it.
Here are a few more of my favorites of the lovely bride.
Katie and Mike exchanging vows.
After the ceremony, we brought both Mike and Katie out for a few more portraits. These two were so cute together. They did a great job at just ignoring the ladies behind the cameras and being their starry eyed, oh-so-in-love selves!
Okay, folks. Get a reading for this next picture. Mike is just precious! Every time I look at this picture I imagine that he’s thinking “God, thank you for the gift of my beautiful bride!”
Are they not the cutest couple, or what!?
I love how Katie opted for cupcakes instead of a cake. How adorable is this display?!
Upon entering the reception hall….
Katie’s friends were a blast! This girl knows how to get the party started!!
The bride’s sister….such pretty girls!
And last but not least, the dancing. As a dancer, I couldn’t end a post without showing some of these…
Katie and Mike, I leave you with an Irish marriage blessing. “May your hands be forever clasped in friendship and your hearts joined forever in love. Your lives are very special; God has touched you in many ways. May his blessings rest upon you and fill all your coming days.”
