So it’s Monday and I’m trying to figure out what it is about “Pomp and Circumstance” that always makes me choke up. Can any of you relate to this? I mean without fail, whenever those infamous notes begin to fill the air, you can be sure to find me somewhere in the crowd fighting back the tears. I honestly think I have cried at more graduation ceremonies than weddings! And any of you with graduating loved ones know that May is a busy month. I attended my brother-in-law’s graduation earlier this month, and this past weekend was UVA’s graduation and a few high school graduations.
One such graduation, The Covenant School’s class of 2010, was where I met up with the Campbell family to take some portraits of their graduate, Luke, and the rest of the family. Now Luke is not just any graduating senior. He actually was a former student of mine! I taught him Spanish when he was in 10th grade, so you can imagine my excitement and pride watching him receive his diploma!
Luke was such a good sport as I had him standing, sitting, standing and getting all paparazzi on him.
So after Luke and I were done getting J.Crew model shots :-), we brought the whole family together for these….
What a blessings to have both sets of grandparents there to celebrate!
Now here are some proud parents, and rightly so.
I love this next one of Dad with his two sons.
Proud brother and mom.
Campbells, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of this momentous occasion in your lives. Luke, best of luck to you next year in North Carolina!
Happy Monday, everyone!
