One thing is certain. When photographing a one and a three year old, energy is a must, fun is paramount, and teddy bears need their picture taken too. This past Memorial Day weekend John and I met up with the Dowells and their sweet kiddos, Eli and Bella, for some family portraits. Since UVA’s Grounds are one of their favorite family destinations, we thought it would be the perfect backdrop for these shots. Right after we arrived, Eli headed straight over to this bench. Knowing for how long 3 year olds sit still, we jumped on the opportunity to get him in some great light. Here are some of our favorites:
Look at those big blue eyes!
Not long after, little sister, Bella, joined in on the fun.
Eli is a very sweet big brother. Here he is giving Bella a hug.
Here’s Eli making sure that his teddy bear also got his picture taken.
And we’re off!
Bella, who just turned one year, is almost on her way to walking on her own. Here she is getting a little bit of help from Mom.
I love the sense of curiosity and wonder that children possess. It’s so beautiful!
Dad and Bella on a walk.
Getting up on Dad’s shoulders got a big smile out of Bella!
Eli was always on the move. There’s so much to explore when you’re 3!
What a beautiful family!
Here comes Miss Bella…
After spending some time exploring the Rotunda, we headed over to one of the gardens. Shannon was prepared – so brought bubbles!!
Eli’s not looking too happy about the rocks in his shoes…
In one of the gardens, Bella decided to try taking some steps on her own. Go Bella!
A little help from Dad…
Bella found her shoes much too interesting for them to stay on her feet!
Father and daughter. I love this shot!
How about one more try?
Bella, you are ADORABLE!!
Back to Eli, who is all boy and all fun!
What a cutie pie!!
Family shot with the Rotunda. Classic.
What sweet kiddos! Here Eli is giving Bella a kiss and then handing her a leaf to throw into the fountain.
Josh, Shannon, Eli and Bella: John and I had a blast running around Grounds with you guys! Thank you for having us document a day in the life of your precious family. We wish you all the best in your new home!
